01 — WHAT WE DO

We build commercial hot and cold plunge systems

Clients come to us at all stages. Some have an idea and need help working out what to build. Some already have a builder or architect involved. Others have existing immersion systems that need to be brought up to commercial standard.

We look at how the venue will operate, including bather numbers, temperatures, water treatment, plant space and servicing. We then design and install the right system for the site.

We supply the plunges and equipment, commission the system, train staff and keep it running once the venue opens.

Our team brings decades of experience and a trusted network across the Australian pool industry.

02 — HOW WE WORK

From design to commissioning

01

Plan and assess

We start with the business model, expected bather loads, operating temperatures, site access and available plant space. We also identify the classification and regulatory requirements before equipment is selected.

02

Design and specify

We design the complete immersion system, including the plunges, pipework, filtration, water treatment, heating or chilling, controls and access for servicing.

03

Install and commission

We manage the plunge and plant installation, including the plumbing, equipment and commissioning. We then test the flow, filtration, dosing, temperature and safety controls before the venue opens.

04

Train and support

Once the system is commissioned, we train venue staff to manage the water day to day, including testing, routine tasks and when to close or escalate. We then provide monthly servicing, callouts when needed and direct support by phone or WhatsApp between visits.

03 — THE SYSTEMS WE BUILD

Built around your venue

Every system is designed around the expected bather load, operating temperatures, vessel size, available plant space, site conditions and budget.

Our systems can be paired with our composite plunges or integrated with inbuilt plunge systems. We can also retrofit suitable existing plunges where required.

Each system includes commercial filtration, circulation, automatic dosing, temperature control and plant controls. Treatment includes a primary disinfectant and, where required, secondary disinfection using UV, ozone or advanced oxidation processes.

We use Waterlink equipment for dosing and monitoring. Depending on the project, the system can also include sand or cartridge filtration, balance tanks and backwash tanks.

04 — COMMON PROBLEMS WE SEE

Where commercial plunge systems usually fail

Most problem sites have more than one issue. These are the faults we find most often:

Residential equipment used commercially. Standalone units are installed without the treatment capacity or controls needed for repeated public use.
Inadequate water treatment. No automatic dosing, unstable disinfectant levels, undersized filtration or missing secondary treatment where required.
Plant that cannot keep up. Filters, pumps, chillers and heaters are selected without allowing for the actual bather load.
Poor hydraulic design. Pipework is undersized, head loss and friction loss have not been calculated, or critical pipework becomes inaccessible once construction is finished.
Safety requirements overlooked. Incorrect suction points, entrapment risks or no clear evidence that the vessel and components meet relevant Australian requirements.
Temperature and condensation problems. Inadequate insulation, undersized temperature-control equipment and poorly planned plant areas prevent the system from heating or chilling properly.
No operating plan. Staff have not been trained, water is tested incorrectly, daily records are missing and nobody knows what to do when results fall outside the limits.
Constant draining and cleaning. The venue relies on excessive water replacement and manual maintenance because the treatment system cannot manage the load.

The result is unstable water, dirty plunges, high maintenance, customer complaints and expensive work after the venue is already operating.

REPLACING AN EXISTING SYSTEM

Our buyback program may help

Where an existing plunge is not suitable for commercial use, Streamline may be able to buy it back or credit its value towards a replacement system. We remove the unit and, where suitable, return it to the residential market. Eligibility depends on the unit, its condition and the site.

05 — COMPLIANCE

Know what is required before you build

In New South Wales, hot and cold plunges used by customers, members or guests at commercial venues fall under the public swimming pool requirements of the Public Health Act 2010. The operating, disinfection, monitoring and recordkeeping requirements are set out in Schedule 1 of the Public Health Regulation 2022.

Calling the system a bath, tub, plunge or wellness product does not change these requirements.

Other Australian states and territories have their own public health and aquatic facility requirements.

To help clear up the confusion, we commissioned a 167-page technical and compliance manual covering recovery, wellness and immersion systems across Australia and New Zealand. It explains the legislation, official guidance and technical requirements that apply, giving business owners a practical guide from early planning through to daily operation.

We help clients understand these requirements before equipment is selected and construction begins.

07 — TALK TO US

Start with a conversation

If you are considering adding hot or cold plunges to a wellness centre, recovery venue, gym, pilates studio, physio clinic, hotel, hostel or other accommodation, call us early. We can explain what needs to be considered and send practical information to help with planning.

If you already have a system that is not operating properly, or you are concerned about water quality, compliance or user safety, get in touch. We can talk through the issues and the options available.
